■Amakusa Daioh...[High quality local chicken that is said to be a fantasy]

It is one of the largest chickens in Japan (the rooster is 90cm tall and weighs approximately 7kg) and lives in Kumamoto. It was named Amakusa Daioh because it is bred in the Amakusa region.

It was kept as a meat breed in the Amakusa region from the Meiji period to the Taisho period, but it is said to have become extinct due to the recession in the early Showa period and a low egg-laying rate due to its large size.

Therefore, in 1992, the Kumamoto Prefectural Agricultural Research Center (Koshi Town, Kikuchi District) crossed the "Lanchamp" with "Great Shamo" and "Kumamoto Cochin", and after about 10 years, in 2001 ( In October 2001, we succeeded in restoring the original species Amakusa Daioh.

Of the 5 local chickens known as Higo 5 chickens (Higo Chabo, Kurenko chicken, Jisuri, Kumamoto breed, and Amakusa Daioh), Amakusa Daioh is the only basic chicken, and Lanshan is no longer raised in Japan. Restoration was delayed. The meat variety "Amakusa Daioh" is produced by crossing the original Amakusa Daioh with the high spawning rate "Kyushu Road" in order to increase the spawning rate (increase productivity).

The meat is raised slowly and slowly for 100 days, so it has a large amount of meat, has an elastic texture, and a rich taste. Approximately 6 kg) The taste is first-class in every way (it used to be highly prized as mizutaki in Hakata).
